Time Control:
5 minutes per player.

Non-Members: $15

Entries close Sunday, 8th of December 2024. Late entries incur a $10 late fee for all players.

Clocks start at exactly 7:15 pm. Default time when clock runs out.
You will be withdrawn from the tournament if you are not present by the default time without a valid reason. A $10 penalty fee is to be paid to be included back in the draw.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Entries are only accepted on our website.
  • Decisions made by the chief arbiter on the night are final, and no appeals are permitted for the purpose of time. (Article 11.10)
  • Pairings by Vega using FIDE Approved Baku Acceleration Method.
  • December FIDE and December ACF Ratings will be used.
  • Half-point byes are only permitted for the tournament’s first two rounds and must be communicated to the arbiter before 7 pm.
  • Exceptions to the byes’ policies will be made at the arbiter’s discretion under special circumstances only. The $10 penalty fee will apply each time you do not turn up before the default time without informing the arbiter.
  • The draw will be published weekly on Saturday evening on our website, newsletter, and social media platforms.
  • Please email byes@rootyhillchessclub.org if you are unable to make it to your game. The club has limited reception, and the arbiter may not receive your text message.
  • Players not residing in Australia must have a FIDE ID to compete. Players must obtain an ID from their national federation if not listed on the FIDE website.
  • FIDE Blitz rules as per Article B.3 will be applied to this tournament.
  • Late entries are an extra $10 for all players.
